School experience

If you are intending to apply to train to teach this year then we may be able to offer an initial taste of teaching experience day with the potential of further experience.

There are two ways to gain experience within our school (see below). However, in the first instance, we request that you complete the form here. Once you have submitted the form we will be back in touch in due course.

School Experience Programme (SEP)

Cheadle Hulme High School is registered for the School Experience Programme (SEP) with the National College for Teaching & Leadership.

The SEP offers a school experience taster day in school with the possibility of further experience days. We are registered to provide experience days for those considering teaching the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Geography, French, German, Spanish or Computer Science.

Candidates will be expected to hold or be predicted to achieve a 2:2 or above degree. However, candidates wishing to teach Mathematics or Physics who have obtained, or who are expected to achieve, a degree below a 2:2, are still eligible for the programme, providing that they have a grade B or above at A Level in their chosen subject.

Taste of Teaching

This programme is available to those who are interested in teaching subjects that are not included under the SEP.
